Amy   kept   in   contact   with   Seamus   after   his   Well   Check   to   make   sure   he   had   contacted   his   GP.   Seamus’s   doctor   had arranged   for   him   to   wear   a   blood   pressure   monitor   to   record   readings   over   a   24-   hour   period.   The   peak   reading   was 227/112   and   his   blood   pressure   averaged   out   over   this   period   at   188/108   –   this   is   very   high!   He   is   now   on   blood   pressure medication and being monitored by his GP.

How do I book a Well Check? As   Seamus   discovered,   sometimes   high   blood   pressure   has   no   warning   signs   which   is   why   it’s   critical   that   people   know   their numbers and have a Well Check with NICHS or a health check with their GP. Visit   nichs.org.uk/wellcheck    for   more   information   on   how   to   book   a   NICHS   Well   Check   or   contact   your   local   GP   for   a   check- up.
